Mid Century Kitchen Reno

This Forest Hill kitchen remodel pushed our boundaries. We had worked with porcelain before for a countertop material, but we had never used porcelain as the cabinet material. Having to rethink the technical aspects of construction when using an entirely different material was a challenging and fun process for us.

Incorporating the existing exterior brick wall into the design was part of this unique mix of new and sleek with old and charming, the existing brick floor set a tone we needed to respect. One aspect of renovations that make them more complicated is being able to incorporate all the new materials and designs into a pallet that is already existing, something we feel we do well as a firm and did very well with this project.

Incorporating a new lighting design and details without decorative pendant lighting cleaned up the space visually and put the focus on the overall character of the kitchen. For this project we were able to make use of recessed track lighting creating a sense of direction through the kitchen into the living room emphasizing the length of the space.
